+ Kym Prager-Wilson

Kym is a native New Yorker who as a young child was always attracted to creativity—music, art, and fashion—but could not play an instrument, sing, dance, or draw. Instead she discovered through the difficulty of her own hair that that she had a natural talent as a stylist and, at age 15, started working as an apprentice in a hair salon in Queens. She attended Cosmetology school while in high school, which confirmed her passion for hair styling. She especially enjoys color—red, black, blonde, and extreme colors—as well as cutting, hi-lighting, and blowing frizzy hair silky straight. Kym founded Medusa Salon in 1998 with a vision to create a space that represents her love for music, art, and fashion through the medium of hair. Twenty three years later, Medusa continues to be a mainstay in Park Slope, Brooklyn.
